These days when we say use the words THE FLASH in the titles of our post, it becomes pretty much assumable that we're referring to the CW series featuring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen. But I'm pretty much sure that the day isn't far away when coining The Flash will create confusions because a different version of the Scarlett Speedster played by Ezra Miller is all set to make his debut in the DC Cinematic Universe in 2017 with Justice League Part One followed by a solo outing in 2018.
As I've used the words THE FLASH NEWS in the title of this post, I should clarify beforehand that I've got news related to both versions! While the CW series has added two new stars to their roster - including a former WWE superstar - The Flash of DCCU - Ezra Miller – has discussed his take on the character.
Plus, there's another segment of news that actually connects to both versions - Ezra Miller shares his thoughts about the CW's Barry Allen - Grant Gustin! So, let's not waste any further time - let's get started with all those exciting stuff on The Flash!

WWE Superstar Edge Joins The Flash!
The former WWE superstar Adam Copeland - better known by his ring name EDGE - has been confirmed to join the CW series in its second season! ComicBook brings to us the casting confirmation. According to the site, Edge will be playing the role of Atom-Smasher and will appear in the season premiere.
Even though the character is a hero in the comic books, the CW series will present him as a nemesis of the Fastest Man Alive. Here's what the CW said to the site while describing the character:
"One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him."
Well, Edge has showed up as a bad guy for a number of times throughout his WWE career - so it might not be a difficult task for him to portray a negative character.

Ezra Miller Shares His Take On The Flash!
City Island and We Need to Talk About Kevin star Ezra Miller recently sat with MTV News and talked about his character in the DCCU - The Flash. From what he shares in the interview, the twenty-two-year-old actor seems to possess an in-depth knowledge about the DC superhero he is set to play on the big-screen. Here's what he says:
"Barry Allen is the hero of the Silver Age who follows a lot of really interesting discoveries in physics. It's like, where he comes from, we've figured out the event horizon was there, and then he was the character that was created through our mythos machine of comic books to break that event horizon so we could explore in fantasy. I think that's an interesting idea - and also what the f*ck does that do to someone?"
We already know that Lego Movie writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have been confirmed as the ones in charge of the script of The Flash movie. If the actor has sat with them any time before this interview, it might mean that the movie is going to attempt for something VERY DIFFERENT from whatever has already been made centering the Scarlett Speedster. And there's this confirmation that at least I get from this interview that The Flash of DCCU is in safe hands!

Ezra Miller On Grant Gustin's The Flash!
In the interview, the American actor was asked whether he's avoided the CW series The Flash to which he replied, "I'm not avoiding it. I'm not avoiding it at all." He also claimed that he thinks the series is "˜awesome'! Miller further added:
"Come on, we're The Flash! It's parallel universes! Grant Gustin is The Flash and I'm The Flash - don't you see? It's the Event Horizon, we crossed it baby! Grant and I are chilling. We're gonna have a race - it's gonna be dope! Like Jay Garrick and Barry Allen back in the day!"
