A new Suicide Squad action figure from Hot Toys spotted at San Diego Comic-Con may have possibly revealed a massive spoiler about the movie’s plot. Hot Toys is famous for their impeccably detailed scale versions of popular superhero characters, which only adds credence to the possibility that fans will actually see this in the upcoming DCEU movie.
WARNING: Huge possible spoiler below!
The action figure in question is for a version of The Joker that Suicide Squad’s extensive marketing doesn’t even hint at:
That’s right – it seems The Joker will somehow get his hands on one of Batman’s suits and modify it to better appeal to his aesthetics. And yes it’s The Joker in a Batman costume and not Batman driven mad by Joker venom, as aside from the label, his braces clearly show.
Hot Toys may have accidentally spoiled this shocking transformation that could have been a big moment in the movie. All of the other Suicide Squad toys on display were straight up from the film, which makes it likely that this one will also be. Moreover, the company is known for recreating (and sticking true to) specific versions of characters and so far have not yet created their own original version.
There’s even a cute Bobblehead version of the Batman Imposter Joker:
Knowledgeable Batman fans will know that The Joker has pulled this stunt before, in the episode “The Laughing Bat” from the 2005 animated series The Batman. This episode may have even more plot points that could’ve influenced Suicide Squad’s story.
If this is an actual spoiler, we’ll be seeing Jared Leto goofing off as Batman in the movie – the question is, how does he get his hands on one (as the costume looks like the real deal) and what is he going to do with it? More questions and speculations can flow from here, but it surely makes it even more exciting to finally see the movie this August.
