Red Hood is one of the most shadowy characters of the Batman lore. And for those of you who love to rediscover the origins of the gloomy mythology of the world's pet bat, good news come from FOX. Red Hood will make an appearance in Gotham.
In a recent interview with CBR, Bruno Heller - executive producer of the show - revealed Red Hood will show up in one of the upcoming episodes. Gotham brings the action years back before the rise of Batman. So, introducing Red Hood - who is basically the Joker in the making - makes all the more sense.
Bruno Heller talks Red Hood for one episode of Gotham
Gotham is not just a pre-Batman world. So far, no superhero costumes were paraded in the show. No antagonist masks popped out either. When asked whether the show will continue on its off-costume path, Bruno Heller gave a detailed answer. Which brings us back to the Red Hood story. In his words:
"That’s a good question. Especially now that we have a pick up, I always take a long-term view of a show. I’m looking at several years. So we’re in no hurry to [do that] — there’s going to be an episode that involves the Red Hood, which picks up that strand, the costume strand, and sort of gives a kind of philosophical base, if that’s not too pretentious a word. Why costumes? What’s the power of costumes? What’s the power of a mask? All of that groundwork will be laid sort of culturally for that side of the DC Universe before we start rolling into the more spectacular spandex type of deal".
