Preacher Season 2 Trailer

Although it wasn't faithful to the comics in any way, Preacher was one of the best comic book-based TV shows we've ever seen. The first season was bizarre and funny. It also offered action and gore, and posed some very interesting questions. Most importantly, it benefited from an excellent main cast that included Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, and the delightful Joseph Gilgun.

We can’t leave out Jackie Earle Haley, whose amazing portrayal of Odin Quincannon stole the show every time he appeared on screen. We should also mention some other secondary characters who won't appear during the series’ second season.

The last time we saw Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy, they had begun their journey across the Unites States to find God. Little did they know that the Cowboy (the comics’ Saint of Killers, whose interesting backstory was explored during the first season) was following them closely. And, yeah, he’s the Terminator; that is the most logical explanation, especially given the show’s context.

And now we have the first full trailer for Preacher’s second season, in which we see that the trio isn't safe at all. Judging solely by this trailer, the second season will feature even more action and twisted comedy than the first. Check it out here:

Of course, the trailer features Arseface (Ian Colletti), but we’re wondering whether he’s still a vision or he’s literally returned from hell (if that’s Hitler, he’s almost certainly still in hell).

We also have our first look at Herr Starr, who will (hopefully) be as exquisite as Odin Quincannon was in the first season.

The first episode of Preacher’s second season will air on the 25th of June.
