After losing his solo show on the small screen, Matt Ryan"˜s John Constantine found a way back in The CW's Arrow. The occult detective has made his appearance in the Arrow episode "Haunted," where he tries to bring back Sara Lance's soul in the present, and encounter Oliver Queen in the past. So, the protagonist of series based on the Hellblazer comics made his way back into the DC TV Universe, but this is not the end.
Rumors from Bleedingcool have it that DC's Legends Of Tomorrow TV show plans to change the cast and missions each season following the model in Justice League Unlimited cartoon. Season 1 is going to premiere in January 2016, and it will feature villains and heroes from Arrow and Flash, respectively, Atom, Captain Cold, Hawkgirl and Firestorm as some of them.
The reliable source from Bleedingcool suggests that Constantine will settle permanently in Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 when it airs, in 2017. However, this is just a rumor and Constantine's appearance in Arrow was a "one time only" as the show runners declared. But, it was a great way for the treacherous magician to return.
Matt Ryan or Steven R. McQueen as John Constantine?
An online petition is requesting his comeback, and joining a team in Legends of Tomorrow would make sense. Chances that Matt Ryan is the one to reprise the role are high, but the publication also mentioned that Steven R. McQueen (The Vampire Diaries) is being looked at to be introduced as a hero in Season 2.
There are no details about McQueen’s role whatsoever, but the fans of Arrow will remember that he was running to play the role of Dick Grayson, a.k.a. Nightwing, and now he has another chance to play someone from Batman's world, or not.
