While this wasn't the best kept secret, it is now confirmed: The Flash premiere episode for Season 3 is called Flashpoint! For those who don't know, Flashpoint is one of the best known Flash stories. Not only that, Flashpoint is also the one that has brought us the New 52, for better or for worse.
The Flash star Grant Gustin made the announcement today on Twitter. Of course, he needed the approval of the show's producer, Greg Berlanti, at first. But when it came, he finally confirmed.
Just finished reading episode 3-01 titled JK NOT GONNA TELL YOU YET! I’m SO excited to get back to work in 2 weeks. #TheFlashSeason3

And then…
@grantgust I’m cool with you telling them the title 🙂

Which leads to this:
FLASHPOINT. This is not drill. https://t.co/nzq2NJh9pl

Of course, it isn’t known at this point whether the Flashpoint story will engulf the entire third season of the Flash series. In the same way, it isn’t known how it will affect the other DC TV shows. And that’s because this news doesn't concern just this particular TV show, but also the entire DC TV universe. The same thing happened with the comics when the entire universe was relaunched.
So this is also an opportunity for the producers to make some changes in regard to Arrow (can’t seem to stop losing fans), Supergirl (switched from CBS to CW), and Legends of Tomorrow.
At the same time, there is also the possibility of the Flashpoint having no impact at all on the aforementioned TV shows. However, since this fall will bring a huge crossover event for all of the TV shows, we wouldn’t bet on this.
And, obviously, there is another opportunity that could be explored. How about a Crisis on Infinite Earths adaptation of some sort? This idea has been rumored ever since the Flash debuted. So, what if?
