Crossover for DC’s Multiverse

Flash-Arrow crossover

The Arrow/Flash crossover (which was just one from the many that will follow concerning these two television series) has proved to be a success.

As far as Flash is concerned, the numbers said that only the pilot was more successful. As far as Arrow is concerned, although the show is one of the best superhero shows of the moments, the episode blew all the ratings.

This being said, you have also heard that Supergirl is intended to be told in the same universe as Flash and Arrow, so this means that more than one crossover will be made between these shows.

But then again, are these three television series the only ones which could share the same universe? Is it possible to see even more crossovers in the future?

While it was said that the TV and Cinematic universes will be distinct, it is very well known that these two universes will be a part of the same multiverse. So, in a way, it will be pretty much like in the comics.

So one possible crossover will be the special appearance of Green Arrow in one of the future DC big screen films - but what about Flash? Well, we already have a Flash in the TV series, as well as an announced Flash for the big screen (with Ezra Miller playing the title role).

An atomic opportunity

Another crossover possibility would actually involve a spin-off - a spin-off based on yet another Arrow character (let's not forget that it was Arrow series which introduced Flash). And this character is Atom.

Of course, such a spin-off is long way from happening and depends on the trajectory of the character in the Arrow TV series. And not just in this one - since Atom's powers don't necessarily fit the tone of the show, this character will most likely move to Flash.

And if Atom will prove to be a popular character"¦

Is the sky the limit as far as crossovers are concerned?

No, not really - a crossover is a special event. It is a point/an episode in which two television series intersect. Making, for example, a crossover between Arrow and Flash more than once a year (as it was announced) would most likely decrease the audiences of the both shows - the characters and their development in itself won't count as much as it should, the focus shifting on what they can do together.

In other words, the fans will become more interested in these small story arcs of the crossovers, rather than in the characters themselves.

As a conclusion"¦

"¦ it can be said that we will definitely have one Flash and Arrow crossover a year, with Supergirl jumping into the fold as soon as the show lifts off.
