Wonder Woman (2017)

Behind just Superman and Batman, Wonder Woman is undoubtedly the most popular and well-known heroic character in DC comic books – so it really is something of a surprise that she hasn’t already been given a movie of her own.

Of course, Lynda Carter successfully portrayed a live action version of the character on television in the mid-late 1970s, but Gal Gadot’s version of the character will be the first to appear in a movie.

Her first on-screen appearance as the Amazonian warrior princess will be in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, prior to her first solo outing in 2017. It will be a refreshing change to see a female lead in a DC movie, as only 1984’s Supergirl and 2004’s Catwoman (both of which we’d rather forget) can boast such a star in terms of DC movies to date.

Inhumans (2019)

The Inhumans will change the face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as they will essentially be to the franchise what mutants are to the X-Men franchise – an entire sub-race of humans.

Of course, they’ve already been introduced on television and season three of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. looks set to make them a prominent feature on MCU Earth, but having the major characters – such as Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak and Gorgon – in a big-budget movie will undoubtedly be pretty epic and it’s definitely something to look forward to.

Marvel Studios obviously believe in the Inhumans, because they’re trusting them to see out Phase Three in 2019 after the undoubtedly epic Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 is released two months before it – and anything less than a great movie would be a major anti-climax after that.
