Tyrese Gibson seems like an odd choice to portray a tormented Dhampir vampire hunter. After all, he is kind of goofy and he isn’t best known for being a leading man – his biggest credits (Fast and Furious and Transformers) have him playing second or even third fiddle.

However, this is the kind of odd choice Marvel would make. Just look at Star Lord and who plays him, and you will get the idea.

At the moment, Tyrese still hopes that he will become the next Green Lantern in a movie that’s due in 2020 (if at all, considering how the DCEU works). So maybe he should campaign for a smaller role – such as the one of Blade. It would be a change of pace for him, and it could show, once again, why Marvel is so awesome at choosing its actors.
