Dunkirk (July 21st)
Christopher Nolan knows how to make big movies. And Dunkirk, based on true events, is his next one. It’s also his first war movie, reuniting him with Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy. There will be no big twists to this movie, unlike Interstellar or Inception. However, it will be beautiful.
What else can I say about Dunkirk? That it promises to deliver the best war action sequences and top even the intro scene of Saving Private Ryan? I do expect that. And I do expect it to annihilate any kind of competition at the box office.
This being said, and as usual on this list, there is place to worry about Dunkirk as well. Christopher Nolan, while being an acclaimed director the studio trusts with any kind of project, did disappoint (just to a certain degree) with Interstellar – I believe it was awesome and flawless, by not everybody shares this opinion.
Maybe the fact that there won’t be a twist in the end will help Dunkirk from this point of view. I don’t know. But, as always with Christopher Nolan ever since Memento, I am looking forward for this flick!
