Post-Credits Scenes for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Having post-credits scenes is a relatively new trend, debuting with the first Iron Man film - in fact, it was Marvel that did it the first time, in order to raise the expectations for its following films. And they did a bang up job with these post-credits scenes, though they did have near misses at times (fun ones, but still).

DC didn't follow this trend for the Dark Knight Trilogy though they did show Sinestro becoming the feared Yellow Lantern in the 2011's Green Lantern. Will they include post-credits scenes in the future movies? The safest bet is that they will - Man of Steel was supposed to have one, after all.

Post-credits scene leading to the Justice League

Marketed at first as a Man of Steel sequel, Batman v Superman can now be considered a Justice League prequel. Which is fine by us - but can they tease this in a post-credits scene?

Zack Snyder can surely do it. The main superheroes which will form the Justice League have already been cast, with Green Lantern being the only one to be announced. A quick scene at the end of Batman v Superman could show Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman uniting for the first time on the silver screens with Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg.

But they needn't actually be all in the same place - maybe the post-credits scene will hint at the main baddie of the first Justice League film, with the heroes being made aware of this new threat no matter where they are found.

Introducing the Green Lantern Corps

As said, only the Green Lantern hasn't been cast yet - or, better yet, the Green Lanterns. As the San Diego Comic Con revealed, the 2020 movie will feature multiple Earth-based Lanterns.

And, as an old rumor said, the final shots of Batman v Superman will introduce the intergalactic peace-keeping corps. So what if this will be a post-credits scene? The actors needn't be cast for this - just show the Guardians of the Universe, the Green Lantern Corps flying in the distance to make the Earth Heroes aware of an incoming threat, or something along these lines.

As said, the Green Lantern Corps movie will arrive in 2020 - however, we can expect for at least one Green Lantern to appear in the Justice League film. A post-credits scene will certainly enhance the buzz for 2017's main event (from this side of the comic book movie universe).

On the next page, it’s SHAZAM! – no, the evil one…

Introduce Black Adam

Shazam! is the DC superhero flick of which we know the least - and the most exciting fact is that The Rock will portray Black Adam.

But, as the actor teased, he may arrive earlier than 2019. As he said, Black Adam is a complex character, an anti-hero with a very rich history. So maybe Batman v Superman should have a post-credits scene about this character.

What if Zack Snyder decides on a post-credits scene showcasing the humble origins of the anti-hero? Or what if the post-credits scene shows Black Adam arriving on Earth from a forced exile? Any of these would do just fine, thank you!

A setup for the first Batman film (with Ben Affleck)

Robin - Red Hood
Robin – Red Hood

The most recent news is that the actual Man of Steel sequel was put indefinitely on hold. However, we all know now that Ben Affleck will star and direct the next Batman solo film (presumably called The Batman).

This kind of post-credits scene could send fans into a frenzy - while the Batman film is still just a rumor at this moment, Batman v Superman won't just bring the two most well-known superheroes on the big screens: it can also confirm that Ben Affleck will have his solo Batman film. And maybe, just maybe, this post-credits scene should be directed by him.

If you've watched any of his movies, you'd certainly know what the difference is between his style and Zack Snyder's.

This scene can tease the appearance of a Batman villain (a villain too small for a Justice League film), or even a new Robin.

The Joker

Really, really bad
Really, really bad

Earlier this year, Jared Leto posted a pic of himself, sporting an undervest with a giant S on it. By the looks of it, the actor may just have said that he roots for Superman when the Kryptonian will encounter the Dark Knight.

However, an interesting rumor says that the Joker will actually make an appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. So what if a post-credits scene (which also announced the first Batfleck solo film) shows us for the first time (on the silver screens) Jared Leto's Clown Prince of Crime?

It can be literally about anything. But, as we are hoping for a Red Hood adaptation, this post-credits scene should hint at this storyline - show us how Dick Grayson died!

Sinestro Corps

Lastly, a post-credits scene for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice could show us who will be the big baddie of the Justice League films. Will it be Brainiac? Will it be Darkseid? Will it be the Crime Syndicate? Will it be Sinestro and his Yellow Lantern Corps?

Any of these would do just fine. Show us just a glimpse and we will thank you, Zack Snyder – even if, in a way, it will be a very Marvel-like move…
