According to most of the reports on the web, Logan Marshall-Green has agreed to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The rumors say that he is set to become a secondary villain to Michael Keaton, who is most likely going to portray the Vulture. And this is great, since both actors have everything it takes to do the job right.

But this isn't all, since a third villainous character will appear. Bokeem Woodbine will bring the number of villains to three, the same number as when the first Spider-Man franchise came to an abrupt end.

And, of course, this leads to something else…a Spider-Man universe within the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, something that Sony has always dreamt about. Should the fans worry? Nah. This isn't just Sony any longer, but also Marvel. And, according to the powers that be, Marvel has complete creative control of the franchise.

So, back to the original topic: Which villainous characters could Logan Marshall-Green portray? Here are my top choices.

Norman Osborn

There is something about Logan Marshall-Green that reminds me of the Dark Reign’s Norman Osborn. Cold and methodical, but not without passion, the actor could become one of the best villains of the MCU. Furthermore, it would also mean that he'd become a recurring character, who will develop over the course of more than one movie.

Norman Osborn is said to play an important role before and after the Infinity War, his company becoming the next technological power after Stark Industries. Recruiting all the SHIELD (and HYDRA) scientists left without a job after the Winter Soldier events, Osborn will basically become a second Stark.

I don't know about you, but a Dark Reign adaptation sounds plausible to me after the Infinity War. And it all seems to lead towards this. If so, we'll also see Logan Marshall-Green in movies other than just the Spider-Man ones.

Young Vulture

Actually, this is one of the bigger rumors on the web - Logan Marshall-Green will portray a young Vulture. This will save Marvel the cash they would need to CGI a younger Michael Keaton from the older one every time the Vulture preys on someone.

And this is a completely believable rumor, as far as I am concerned. Yes, even if it means that Michael Keaton has agreed to appear less in front of the camera.

In this way, if everything is indeed going towards a Spider-Man universe, and if the Sinister Six are ever to come to life, Marvel will already have a Vulture. And I am pretty sure that Logan Marshall-Green would agree to appear in multiple Marvel flicks.

After all, he is no Joaquin Phoenix.

Morbius, the Living Vampire

What a great way to introduce vampirism into the MCU! We already have quite a few types of powers (mostly technological), but we haven't even started exploring the myths of the modern world! Morbius, the Living Vampire would be a great way to expand on that.

And Logan Marshall-Green would be great in such a role.

And that is because Morbius is not necessarily just a villain. He is a tragic character, almost an anti-hero. And he isn't even a full vampire; he’s even made an alliance with Blade, the most well-known vampire hunter in the Marvel comics.

If Logan Marshall-Green does end up playing Morbius, this would be a great beginning for a Midnight Sons franchise. After all, Doctor Strange does need allies in his battle against the occult. And, in the comics, Morbius became a member of this team after Strange's intervention.

Eddie Brock

Eddie Brock doesn't need to be a full villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, if the comics are indeed an indication of what will happen in the movie, Eddie Brock needs to appear. And that is because Homecoming is the first time the Symbiote appears in the Marvel comics.

Again, this would mean that Logan Marshall-Green could appear in multiple Marvel flicks. The age difference between Green and Tom Holland is considerable. However, this would make the threat of a Venom even greater for Peter Parker, requiring that he allies himself with other superheroes.

And I believe that we all love it when multiple superheroes are present in the solo franchises of the MCU.

So yes - I am game for Logan Marshall-Green to portray Eddie Brock. Even if this would be just a minor role in Homecoming, in the future it would certainly be expanded. Maybe Sony should have thought during the original Spider-Man trilogy about building the relationship between Brock and Parker across several movies .

Scorpion

Kevin Feige did say that the first Spider-Man flick will feature a new villain. But what if he meant that it will be new villains, instead of just one? If the rumors concerning the Sinister Six and the Spider-Man universe are true, then Scorpion needs to be present. And Logan Marshall-Green would make a great Mac Gargan.

And I choose this Scorpion because his relationship with Spider-Man seems the most complex one. Tasked with finding all about Parker's relationship with Spider-Man, Gargan (a private investigator) fails to uncover the truth. And so he is willing to undergo an experiment that changes him entirely.

Furthermore, if Dark Reign is to happen after the Infinity War, Logan Marshall-Green would have the chance to basically play two villains. One of them would be Scorpion, the other a fake symbiote Spider-Man.

But, until then, who wouldn't want to see Scorpion on the big screen? This is a character long overdue.

Shocker

Shocker was rumored to appear in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise. It didn't happen, for widely known reasons. But it could happen now, with Logan Marshall-Green portraying him. The best thing about this is that the actor looks the role. Additionally, this is actually a secondary type of villain.

So, in a way, the movie wouldn't be overcrowded. And, even if just for a small cameo never to be repeated, it would still be great fan-service. Especially for those who loved the "˜90's cartoon.

Flash Thompson/Agent Venom

Here is another great opportunity for Marvel to introduce recurring characters. Everybody knows Flash Thompson is the bully who wouldn't leave Peter Parker alone. However, later on, he becomes a soldier who loses his legs in Iraq. Of course, the location could be changed, but I wouldn't mind it if this version of Flash were already a grown-up man, instead of another teen.

And this is more interesting since this opens another possibility of having Logan Marshall-Green in a symbiote suit.

This is least likely to happen. However, it isn't a possibility to be discarded, especially since Agent Venom is not a straight-up villain. And I guess everybody likes complex characters like this one.

Alistair Smythe

As said, Oscorp is set to become a power in the MCU, after recruiting all of the SHIELD and HYDRA scientists who’ve been left without a job. Alistair Smythe could be one of them, and he could be played by Logan Marshall-Green.

Granted, the character won't have as rich a history with Peter Parker, since Parker has been active for just a couple of months (and that was before the Civil War started). However, the relationship could be built, especially if a Norman Osborn will appear. And I guess I’m not the only one seeing how this Smythe could be in a wheelchair from the first moment we see him.

Just as with a few others on this list, Alistair Smythe should be a villain in Homecoming. Instead, the character should be developed at first. And this should happen just to see Spidey fighting the Spider Slayers.

Of course, Smythe has already appeared on the big screen, but he was just an extra. So Marvel should do him justice in the MCU.

Mysterio

Mysterio is yet another great character that is long overdue. And I don't know about you, but I do believe that this is one of the amazing characters who would bring great visual effects if handled properly. And since Doctor Strange is an actual sorcerer, why shouldn't an illusionist find his way to the big screen?

Just image Logan Marshall-Green in the role, in a movie that would seem like a communion between Now You See Me and the MCU. The shared universe is lighthearted, and it’s the perfect place for such a movie. And Mysterio would be a great counterpart for the darker Vulture, who needs to suck the vitality out of his victims.

Tinkerer

As everybody knows, Vulture will be the main antagonist of the movie. Thus, he will work for Oscorp, and will have developed his infamous suit, based on Stark technology. However, since he wasn't able to replicate the arc technology, his suit is powered by the wearer's life force.

So what if Logan Marshall-Green portrays the Tinkerer, another scientist hired by Oscorp? What if he is supposed to aid Toomes as the technology is perfected? And what if the Tinkerer has plans of his own?

Even if he doesn't, he would still make for a great secondary villain. Given the super-intellect of these two foes, Spider-Man would have no other way than ask for Stark's help. And since Robert Downey, Jr. will appear in Homecoming"¦

Yes, this would be another supporting role for Logan Marshall-Green. But who said it should be otherwise?

The Jackal

Of course, Logan Marshall-Green could also be the Jackal, a former professor of Peter Parker. We already had the Lizard, but that didn't pan out. Maybe with a different professor, it will. This would also be an interesting character, since Miles Warren (the actual name of the professor) is infatuated with Parker's love interest (in the comics, Gwen Stacy). So it would mean a different kind of reasoning behind a villain's actions.

Of course, Gwen won't appear in Homecoming, as far as we know. Even more, I'd be more interested in seeing a better version of Mary Jane Watson. However, since this would be an adaptation, some things could be changed.

And it would be creepy as hell seeing someone of Logan Marshall-Green's age bent on stealing the girlfriend of a teenager. And wouldn't that be great? As far as I recall it, we haven't had that in the MCU just yet (I'm not counting the Killian - Potts thing here, and neither should you)

And lastly"¦

Cletus Kasady

Well, Logan Marshall-Green doesn't look at all like Kasady. But does that count at all? Furthermore, he should be just a small cameo - maybe one of the baddies captured by Spider-Man in the beginning of the movie.

And that would be just to build the character towards a potential sequel, after the symbiote was introduced. That's right. I'm hoping for a Spider-Man - Carnage showdown sometime in the future. It doesn't matter when. It could be well after the Infinity War.

But, if that happens, the character should be built over the course of several movies. I want to know that he is a true psychopath and that Spider-Man needs to ally himself with one of his greatest enemies to take him down.
