While Captain America: Civil War is a little more than half a year away, we still haven't seen any small clip for it - let alone a full trailer. And we cannot wait for this to happen - it will be most likely this month, since Marvel has always released trailers in October for their May released movies.
But what we want to find out the most is which of the rumors about Captain America: Civil War are true. Here are the ones we'd like to actually see happening.
Spider-Man and Hank Pym
For all that we know, Hank Pym won't even appear in Captain America: Civil War. And, for all that we know, even if he does, he wouldn't be in the same team as Spider-Man.
Nonetheless, if the movie follows the storyline just a bit, we might see Spider-Man changing sides - or, at least, renouncing his allegiance. This would be the perfect chance for Peter Parker to have a meeting with Hank Pym and have the latter design a new and more performant web-shooting system.
How about a miniaturized tank of web-fluids on his wrists? We don't know - but it will be nice to see someone else in charge with the upgrades, someone other than Tony Stark.
On the next page, Iron Man searches for the big baddie of the MCU!
Iron Man - the search for Thanos
Another very interesting rumor concerns Iron Man and it connects Captain America: Civil War to both Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Infinity War.
As seen this year, Tony Stark's vision saw the Avengers defeated by the Chitauri, who had now a clear path towards conquering Earth. The whole premise of Avengers: Age of Ultron might be said to have been built on this vision.
Since this is Captain America: Civil War and not Iron Man: Civil War, we can expect for Tony Stark to fight a losing battle. In the end, defeated and outlawed, he will decide to go into seclusion. But will he really?
The interesting rumor is that he already possesses the technology which allows him to travel in space at great speeds. So, at the end of Captain America: Civil War, he will do exactly that - his exile is also a search for the aliens he saw to have defeated the Avengers.
Of course, this opens up another possibility, of him meeting with the Guardians of the Galaxy. While James Gunn already denied such a possibility, we actually want to see this happening. What if Iron Man finds himself somewhere out of the solar system, seeing the Milano approaching? What if he doesn't even see it, but rather hears Hooked on a Feeling? This could be the best post-credits scene for Captain America: Civil War!
And if you heard the rumors saying that Iron Man will be in the first Spider-Man solo flick - he has plenty of time to come back - Spider-Man will be the last solo flick to take place on Earth before Thanos arrives. So Iron Man has plenty of time to appear and warn the superheroes of the impending threat.
On the next page, Ant-Man shows his strength!
Ant-Man becoming Giant-Man!
It's all there, in the first Ant-Man flick! Scott Lang doesn't just have the ability to shrink - he also possesses the technology which allows him to grow in size!
It is the regulator which will allow him to do this - so why not put it in the movie? What if Iron Man's entire team (or thereabout) has to fight Captain America and his team and a super-sized Ant-Man? This will be a sight to be seen.
We already know that Ant-Man will have quite a few awesome moments in Captain America: Civil War. One of these moments has him being shot by Hawkeye while standing on an arrow. What if he grows to unseen proportions when the arrow hits the target?
It would be awesome - though, maybe, he won't have the same fate as Goliath did in the comics"¦
On the next page, hunting the Winter Soldier!
Iron Man and Black Panther hunting Bucky
Before Spider-Man came into the fold, Black Panther was supposed to be the one who reveals his hidden identity during Captain America: Civil War. We are certain that this won't happen any longer. However, what could make him take Tony Stark's side, when he is the one superhero who has all the reasons to be against a Registration Act? After all, Wakanda has been in seclusion and has never let the governments of the world interfere in its own agenda.
Well, the rumor is that Bucky Barnes may have been sent a couple of times in Wakanda to assassinate some people - we don't know who, but we can bet that Black Panther won't take this lightly. As far as Tony Stark is concerned, it is all but confirmed that the Winter Soldier killed his parents.
So these two will most likely have extra-reasons of finding and punishing the Winter Soldier. As we know, Black Panther will have a major fight with Captain America. Could this be the reason?
As we also know, Iron Man will fight both Captain America and the Winter Soldier at one moment - being punched straight in the face by the latter. So what if Black Panther intervenes, dispatches the Winter Soldier fairly quickly, and then continues his fight with Steve Rogers?
Captain America: Civil War will be awesome even if it included only this fight!
Next, the big guy!
Hulk vs. Red Hulk?
Why would General Ross be brought back in the MCU, if not for the Red Hulk to make an appearance?
As known, both Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo have previously confirmed that the Hulk will appear in Captain America: Civil War. Nonetheless, later on, Ruffalo came and said that the powers that be decided against this.
But then again - we do have General Ross making a comeback. And he hasn't been seen around since The Incredible Hulk. What if he has found the means to become the Red Hulk and now wants to capture the Green Goliath, as he once did? What if in his quest he ends up killing some heroes or some villains - we do know that Abomination is still somewhere"¦
This could be a stretch and nothing confirms that the Hulk will indeed appear in Captain America: Civil War. He might be in space already, or he might already be captured by Ross (who is still a human) and kept hidden. Who knows - what we know is that a showdown between the Hulk and an equally powerful opponent would make Captain America: Civil War even more exciting!
On the next page, a major death!
Who will bite the dust in Captain America: Civil War?
In the comics, it is Captain America himself who ends up being assassinated - well, sort of, since he is later on revealed to be alive. Can this happen in the MCU? We don't actually want that, because this would be another unsatisfying death revealed to be a hoax of some kind. So another characters should bite the dust.
Is it Ant-Man? He doesn't have a sequel announced just yet. Is it Hawkeye? He might just be, since his death will have an impact on Iron Man's team (particularly Black Widow) - and his death would be meaningful, especially since his character grew in Age of Ultron. Is it Black Widow? Is it Falcon or War Machine? These two might just be the ones, though their deaths wouldn't be so major.
One thing is certain. If somebody dies in Captain America: Civil War, then that somebody should stay dead.
On the next page, a major return!
Red Skull is back!
This must have been the most unsatisfying death of a villain we have seen in the MCU. It was so unsatisfying that we don't even believe that he is dead - what we believe is that the Red Skull was transported by the Tesseract to an unknown location, most likely not on Earth. Captain America: Civil War is the perfect time when this character should be brought back, since it is the end of the trilogy which introduced him.
And it would be for the best because it shows that evil never dies - it just disappears for a while.
We know of one single major villain to appear in Captain America: Civil War. And that villain is Zemo. So what if Zemo has find a way to bring back the HYDRA leader? This makes perfect sense - while the Avengers are busy with their petty Civil War, Zemo will try to resurrect/bring back the Red Skull. He might even succeed, with some exterior help"¦ Cue Thanos, for yet another cameo!
Which of these rumors should prove to be true?
