Ant-Man is now playing on the big screens and it has proved to be actually important for the future MCU movies. The tiny superhero has, thus, introduced not just a new player, Scott Lang, in the Avengers team, but it has also provided the ground for other future movies.
In this way, we remember the reason for which Edgar Wright left the project: his ideas for Ant-Man didn't exactly fit the plans of the studio. After seeing the movie, we realize that changing the director and rewriting the script was essential not just for the movie itself, but also for the sake of Marvel-ous continuity.
The Quantum Realm

In this way, Ant-Man has introduced the Quantum Realm, which is in fact the Microverse from the comics. This movie just scratches the possibilities offered by this new dimension, in its climax, but surely promises to develop it in the future movies. What kinds of future movies?
When Ant-Man shrinks, he basically reaches a space which is beyond time and space. For the importance of this new dimension, Kevin Feige already gave an explanation, well before the actual movie was released: ""¦ the whole notion of the quantum realm and the whole notion of going to places that are so out there, they are almost mind-bendingly hard to fathom. It all plays into Phase Three" (via Screen Rant)
Which really gets us interested. The Microverse from the comics was, basically, Ant-Man's territory, as the name suggests. However, the Quantum Realm is about something else and it isn't just the minuscule superhero's domain. As Feige said, it is mind-bending. We can say that it is a rather amazing, a rather"¦ strange place.
You know where we are going from here on, right? Check out something about the strangeness and about a new hero set by Ant-Man!
