Michael Clarke Duncan

Known for his imposing physique, the late Michael Clarke Duncan’s most interesting (and famous) role was in the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Green Mile, back in 2000 – a role for which he was also nominated for an Academy Award.

However, he appeared in quite a few movies after 1995, when he made his debut, most notably in Sin City (as a villain), Planet of the Apes (the Tim Burton one), and The Island.

Besides Sin City in 2005, the actor also appeared as the main antagonist of Ben Affleck’s Daredevil in 2003. Obviously, you also know how that movie performed at the box office and with the critics…

In 2011, Duncan switched sides and appeared in a DC movie, one that was supposed to kick-start the DCEU. In Green Lantern, he portrayed Kilowog, one of the Green Lanterns with whom Ryan Reynold’s character trains (for a couple of scenes).

It didn’t work out too well for that movie…Warner Bros had to wait until Man of Steel for the DCEU to begin…
