Actors Who Played Both Heroes and Villains in Comic Book Movies

Who would have thought that Jim CarreyÂ would beÂ an actor who can portray comic book heroes, villains, and anti-heroes with ease?

I guess everybody knows who Jim Carrey is. But I should say that his most prolific year was 1994, the year when he also became a superstar. In that year, the first Ace Ventura was released, as well as the first Dumb and Dumber. But 1994 was also the year when he appeared in The Mask as Stanley Ipkiss, his first comic book movie role.

A year later he returned to the world of comic book movies in Batman Forever, where he brought Riddler to life. I guess everybody knows how the Joel Schumacher era of Batman movies wasâ€¦

Lastly, in 2013, Jim Carrey appeared as Colonel Stars and Stripes in the Kick-Ass sequel. To say that it was a disappointment is an understatement, especially since Carreyâ€™s role was way smaller than the marketing campaign led usÂ to believe. But, for as long as it lasted, the actor proved that he can inhabit any kind of character.
