And while there aren't that many African-American superheroes on the big screens, the actor first said that he wants to play the Silver Surfer "“ a rather ambiguous character from this point of view.

However, when Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer happened, the character was voiced by Laurence Fishburne and played by Doug Jones. So that was a missed opportunity.

Later on, when Marvel and Netflix started the casting for Luke Cage, Terry Crews expressed his interest in portraying the titular character. And, as it turned out, Mike Colter grabbed the role. We haven't decided yet if this was a better decision"¦
