5. Loners
If there were ever a Marvel property that’d make for a quirky independent comedy, it’s The Loners.
The Loners (originally named Excelsior) were a support group for former teenage superheroes that spun out of Runaways. The team included a buncha 80s and 90s teen heroes, including Ricochet of the Slingers, Lightspeed of the Power Pack, and my boy Darkhawk. I loves me some Darkhawk, and any opportunity to see more of him is a plus. Darkhawk rules.
After their own adventures, they banded together to try and convince other powered teens to just not help people, citing that it’s too much of a headache. The team also all resolved to not use their own powers at all.
They kept to this resolve by…IMMEDIATELY returning to hero-ing in their appearances outside of the Loners miniseries. Still, it’d be a fun low-budget indie movie unlike anything else we’ve seen from Marvel.
