So a while ago, I made a list of Marvel Superteams that I felt deserved their own feature films. Aaaaaand you guys lost your minds over it. Like, in a good way. You seemed to like it a lot. And so, I took some of the suggestions you all had, plus some that I cut from my last list, plus some new ones. So, here we go again with my personal list of awesome Marvel Superteams.

10. The Invaders
This was easily the most requested team for my original list and let it never be said that I don't listen to the people.
So let's talk about the Invaders, the Marvel superteam whose members date back to the 1940s and were assembled into a team in the 1970s, as a way to write more adventures for those older characters. The team typically consists of Captain America, Bucky, Human Torch (the android one), Namor, Union Jack, and other assorted "˜40s heroes.
These guys are awesome, fun characters, and since most of the World War II stuff in Captain America: The First Avenger was montaged over, you could stick an Invaders flick into the MCU continuity with no problem. Plus, Union Jack (or, at least, his alter ego James Falsworth) was actually in First Avenger, so we are close!
Oh, and if they added my personal favorite Invader, Blazing Skull, I'd be pretty psyched. He has a skull for a head that is always on fire. He’s like Ghost Rider, but without all the bad movies made about him.

9. Excalibur
Last time, I extolled the virtues of MI-13, a recent British superteam, so this time I thought I'd talk about their spiritual predecessor.
But to do that, we need to talk about Chris Clairemont. Chris Clairemont did more to revolutionize comics than you might think. He turned the X-Men into the best selling and most popular comic book of all time after they were nearly cancelled. He changed how team books were written forever with his work.
So, when he decided he wanted to take a couple of his favorite X-Men (Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler), stick "˜em in England, and throw in some awesome British characters (Captain Britain and his wife), nobody stopped him.
The resulting series was a fun romp that gave Kitty and Kurt some more character development and also gave us more Captain Britain, who is super great. As a movie, it'd go a long way toward expanding the X-Universe.
If they made it, I'd certainly take my car out of the garage and drive to the theatre to see this presumably colorful film.

8. Great Lakes Avengers/X-Men/Champions/Initiative
The best!!
Back when the West Coast Avengers were a thing (wish they still were; it's not fair that New York gets all the superheroes), Marvel decided to poke a little fun at themselves by creating the Great Lakes Avengers.
The GLA (get it?) were composed of the greatest superheroes of all time, including Mr. Immortal, Big Bertha, Flatman, Doorman, and Squirrel Girl, who, uh, actually is one of the most successful heroes in the Marvel Universe. Like, she beat up Dr. Doom and Thanos. She is a force to be reckoned with.
A Great Lakes Avengers movie would be a really charming, fun comedy along the lines of Guardians of the Galaxy. It will NEVER HAPPEN, but this list isn't about stuff I think will actually get made, it's about stuff I wish would get made. And I wanna see this soooooooooooooooooo bad.
Also, the joke about them constantly changing their name is really funny.

7. The Illuminati (Ver. 3)
It's time for my honorary one supervillain team per list!! Last time I gave it to the Sinister "Six" from Superior Foes of Spider-Man. This time, it goes to the Hood's heisting team from the All-New All-Different Marvel Now series Illuminati.
The squad includes The Hood himself, Titania, the Black Ant, Thunderball, the Enchantress, and the Mad Thinker. The team was assembled to rob the armor halls of Asgard, which, as far as first missions go, is a pretty kickass one.
Admittedly, the team has only existed for six issues (and it's probably gonna get canceled soon, because we aren't allowed to have good things) but the all-star writing by Joshua Williamson elevates this team to near the top.
Oh, and if you were a fan of the Irredeemable Ant-Man, Eric O'Grady is kinda on this team as the Black Ant. Kinda. You'll see if you read. He's also on"¦

6. The Pet Avengers
Wait, no! This was supposed to be the other Eric O'Grady team! Gaaah, I need to not write segues before I look at my list order.
Fine, whatever.
Like the Great Lakes Avengers, the Pet Avengers were another example of Marvel poking fun at itself, this time for all the Avenger-branded books coming out around 2010 as part of the Heroic Age branding.
Led by Lockjaw of the Inhumans, the team consisted of Zabu the saber-toothed tiger, Redwing the Falcon's falcon, Niels (Speedball's cat), Frog Thor, and Ms. Lion (Aunt May's dog). They also crossed paths with Devil Dinosaur and a Giganto in their first adventure. Wow, it's like I'm watching my own greatest hits.
I'd absolutely think a Pet Avengers movie would work, but only if it were a Disney animated film outside of the MCU continuity, like Big Hero 6 was. Other than an untitled Spider-Man movie, Disney doesn't have many Marvel movies planned, so there's a freebie right there. Do it!!

5. Loners
If there were ever a Marvel property that'd make for a quirky independent comedy, it's The Loners.
The Loners (originally named Excelsior) were a support group for former teenage superheroes that spun out of Runaways. The team included a buncha 80s and 90s teen heroes, including Ricochet of the Slingers, Lightspeed of the Power Pack, and my boy Darkhawk. I loves me some Darkhawk, and any opportunity to see more of him is a plus. Darkhawk rules.
After their own adventures, they banded together to try and convince other powered teens to just not help people, citing that it's too much of a headache. The team also all resolved to not use their own powers at all.
They kept to this resolve by"¦IMMEDIATELY returning to hero-ing in their appearances outside of the Loners miniseries. Still, it'd be a fun low-budget indie movie unlike anything else we've seen from Marvel.

4. Secret Avengers
Oh, well, HERE'S the other team that Eric O'Grady's on. You know, the one I segued to three entries ago? Well, we're there now.
Sigh.
Okay, so. The Secret Avengers were an Avengers-sanctioned covert ops team led by Steve Rogers. And although the first lineup consisted of a furry blue cat man (The Beast), a constantly glowing space cop (Nova) and a literally crazy person dressed all in white (Moon Knight), none of whom exactly scream "secret", the team eventually found its footing.
Plus, we got some more Eric O'Grady, including his defining character moment. The Rick Remender-written run is especially great, and my fave, but I've heard great things about the Kot run as well. And the stand alone Warren Ellis issues are, well, Warren Ellis issues, so of course they're amazing.
Those are collected in a trade as "Run the Mission. Don't Get Caught. Save the World." Which is a pretty fantastic title for a thing.

3. Uncanny X-Force
Aaaaaaand now we transition to another covert ops superhero team! Aha! Got my segue game back! Take that, Past-Me! But yeah, let's talk about the Uncanny X-Force team!
"But Hunter," I can hear you saying, "aren't they already making an X-Force movie? Also, you're incredibly witty and charming." First of all, thanks, reader. But I think we should just stay friends, and second of all, the X-Force movie we're gonna get doesn't seem like it'll be the Uncanny team, which is a thing that makes me sad.
Written by Rick Remender just like Secret Avengers was (What did I say about my segue being back on point?), Uncanny X-Force followed the covert ops team dedicated to doing things the X-Men didn't want to do. This kinda included (spoilers) murdering a teenaged Apocalypse in the first arc. An act which haunted the team for the rest of the series. Even Deadpool. Who is famously conscienceless, according to people who've never read any Deadpool.
Oh, I guess I coulda just said, "This has Deadpool in it." That woulda sold you on the series, huh? Well, live and learn.

2. X-Factor
In my last list, I threw in X-Factor Investigations, but when I thought back on it, the Original X-Factor team also would make an awesome movie.
X-Factor was originally a way to get a book out there starring the original five X-Men, and the pitch was intriguing. X-Factor pretended to be an anti-mutant task force you could hire to "take care of" mutants you wanted gone. In reality, they would secretly recruit said mutants, and train them to use their powers without being noticed.
That's an AWESOME series concept.
Make for a cool movie too, if I do say so myself. Although, as a movie, I'd be cool if they changed the team up from the Scott/Bobby/Jean/Hank/Warren thing from the comics. As long as that concept stayed the same, FOX can put whoever they want in it.

1. The Weapon Plus Program
So this one will NEVER IN A BILLION YEARS GET MADE FOR SO MANY REASONS, but it would be so goshdarn cool if it did.
All of you probably know that Wolverine was the result of something called the Weapon X program. Most of you know that the "X" in Weapon X was revealed to stand for 10. But I doubt most of you know the whole story.
You see, The Weapon Plus Program began as a way to replicate the Super Soldier Serum. This makes Steve Rogers Weapon I. After that, came Weapon II, who was a talking squirrel with Wolverine claws. This is amazing. Then we had Weapons III-VI who weren't all that important. Weapon VII gave us Nuke (who popped up in Jessica Jones), Weapon X gave us Wolverine, Sabretooth and Deadpool, and Weapon XII produced Fantomex.
So what I wanna see is a Weapon Plus crossover film. Imagine Captain America, Wolvie, Deadpool, and a talking squirrel with claws facing off against the mistakes and horrors of Weapon Plus! It'd be SOOOO GOOOOOD!! Now, again, it'll never get made because it'd be a rights nightmare, but a guy can dream.
And there ya go, another one of these fun lists. If you’ve enjoyed it, like and share and all that stuff, and I'll totally consider completing the trilogy! I like making things you guys like. It's a fun time for everyone!
