The Flash and Aquaman Movies will Continue Story from Justice League!

The Flash and Aquaman will continue story from Justice League Part One

The Flash and Aquaman standalone movies are the two DC Extended Universe ventures scheduled for release in 2018. The movies will hit the theaters after the first Justice League movie, but we weren't sure whether they would chronologically follow the events of the November 17, 2017 release or simply be origin stories – until now. Wonder Woman, for example, is coming after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but its events take place long before the events in the Zack Snyder flick.

But we can finally put our confusion to rest. Charles Roven, co-producer of almost every upcoming DC Extended Universe flick (he co-produced Man of Steel, too), offers a confirmation in a recent interview with Wall Street Journal. He says that Barry Allen and Arthur Curry's solo outings will not be origin stories. Rather, the movies will continue on from where their characters left off in Justice League Part One. Roven also shared:

While each movie stands alone, they're all part of one long arc of storytelling.

A while ago, we learned that Argo scribe Chris Terrio has completed penning the scripts for the Justice League movies, which kick off filming next month. But that wasn't an easy task for the Academy Award winning writer. In the interview, he shared all the research he had to do in preparation for writing the Justice League scripts.

He revealed that he "studied redshifts and blueshifts in electromagnetic physics" to learn as much as possible about Ezra Miller's Flash. He "investigated deep sea biology in the Mariana trench" to craft the world of Jason Momoa's Aquaman. And he had to "read the Greek historian Diodorus of Sicily's account of the war between Amazon and Atlantis" to create a better understanding of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. Chris Terrio stated:

If you told me the most rigorous dramaturgical and intellectual product of my life would be superhero movies, I would have said you were crazy.

Would you have preferred origin stories for Aquaman and The Flash movies? Or, do you think it’s a good move to continue the story of Justice League Part One in the two solo movies? Do let us know your opinion via comments!
