Although the first Doctor Strange movie was a bit underwhelming, and critics made reference to Marvel’s so-called formula, the film earned $677 million worldwide. So we can be sure that a sequel will come our way at some point. The second movie hasn't been announced just yet, but that’s because the conclusion of the three MCU phases is near, and the studio wants to focus on the remaining movies.
In a recent interview with Collider, Kevin Feige talked about the post-Phase III shared universe, and addressed the fact that only the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 have been announced. The Marvel boss said that there are other stories to tell, and added that the studio would love to have one of them be about Doctor Strange:

Certainly, we would love to tell more about the Strange story.
The first movie did well at the box office, and it ended with a cliffhanger (Baron Mordo apparently turned evil), so there has to be a follow-up; we just don’t know when it will happen. But as Infinity War approaches, and we learn more about it, we’ll probably begin to hear about additional projects.
Feige isn't the only one who’s teased a Doctor Strange sequel. Scott Derrickson, who directed the first movie, recently posted a new pic of a page from a Sorcerer Supreme comic book via his Twitter account. Check it out below:

Does this mean that Derrickson’s already signed for the sequel? We don't know. But even if he has, the Doctor Strange sequel probably wouldn’t arrive any earlier than 2020.
