Last month, Up in the Air and Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick expressed her willingness to portray the Marvel superhero Squirrel Girl. She revealed that it was her brother who sent her a comic of the character because he thought she should play her.
And it didn't take long to prove the fact that Anna's brother is just one of the many who think she would do great as Doreen Green.
The internet flooded with posts from fans supporting the idea of the 31-year-old actress playing Squirrel Girl. Even her Scott Pilgrim vs. the World director Edgar Wright voiced his support on social media.
And now, in a recent interview with Yahoo Movies, the Russo Brothers, directors of the last two movies of Captain America trilogy and the upcoming two Avengers movies, endorse Anna Kendrick for the role. Joe Russo says:
It would be perfect casting, and we're huge Anna Kendrick fans.
Despite their eagerness to see the Academy Award nominee as Squirrel Girl in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the filmmaking duo is not going to entertain the idea of including the female superhero in Avengers: Infinity War.

Anthony Russo makes it clear that they have their "hands full trying to tell the story" they have with the characters they already have. Following Anthony's remark, Joe jokes:
Anthony would probably die from exhaustion if we introduced another character.
However, Joe's wisecrack loses its effectiveness as soon as Anthony adds:
That's not to say we're not going to introduce a new character.
Does that mean Brie Larson's Captain Marvel would appear in Avengers: Infinity War prior to her standalone movie? The Russo Brothers would neither confirm nor deny. Anthony says:
That's one we're going to have to plead the fifth on.
A few months back, the directors said that they had a board with 67 characters on it for Avengers: Infinity War. Asked whether they have made any progress in narrowing down the board, Joe jokingly says:
Yeah, it's down to 66. Remember Dr. Fine, [the S.H.I.E.L.D. surgeon] from Winter Soldier? He's off the board. Wanted too much money.
