Jason Momoa Becomes Kraven the Hunter In Amazing Fan Art

Kraven the Hunter is one of the truly great Spider-Man villains we’ve yet to see on the big screen yet. That seems destined to change, but who should play him when the time comes? Aquaman star Jason Momoa seems like the perfect fit, as evidenced by some new art cooked up by BossLogic. Have a look.

“Revised from Sabertooth to Kraven real quick,” BossLogic said in his caption.

BossLogic is a popular artist who has done work with Marvel in the past. He regularly does similar portraits and renderings when castings are announced, or when fan castings are making the rounds online. Momoa has been pegged as an ideal pick for Kraven for some time now. However, his commitments in the DC universe may make that impossible. Still, seeing this art is enough to make fans dream that he can dip his toes into both the Marvel and DC wells.

In the pages of Marvel Comics, Kraven the Hunter is one of Spider-Man’s most notorious and fearsome villains. He is a big game hunter that ultimately sees Spidey as the most dangerous game. This is famously chronicled in the Kraven’s Last Hunt storyline, which is one of the most beloved arc’s in the character’s long history.

There have been rumors that Kraven will appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point, but nothing has been firmed up. Sony, who is using the Spider-Man characters they control the rights to, is developing several spin-off movies to go along with Venom, with Kraven the Hunter being just one of the projects the studio has in the works.

“You know what? Kraven is one of my favorites for a cameo. I always wanted Aquaman to play Kraven, but he’s now DC. I thought that would be super cool,” Tom Holland said in an interview with MTV in 2017. So it’s not just fans who think Momoa would be perfect for the part. Even the guy who currently plays Peter Parker thinks it’s a good idea.

Here’s the synopsis for Spider-Man: Far From Home

“Peter Parker’s relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. The world is in danger as four massive elemental creatures — each representing Earth, air, water and fire, emerge from a hole torn in the universe. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.”

Spider-Man 3 is set to film this summer, with a July 2021 release date set.
