The Marvels originally hit theaters in November and didn’t perform well, making just $206 million worldwide. That makes it the lowest-grossing MCU movie to date against a sizable $220 million budget. That is particularly disappointing given that Captain Marvel made $1.1 billion worldwide. However, that was sandwiched between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame at the peak of superhero popularity. A lot has changed since then. As a result, it’s unclear what the future holds for these characters.
The Marvels arrives on Digital and VOD on January 16.
