The Ninja Turtles are getting a brand new video game. Announced by Outright Games in a press release, the company is set to release a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem video game next year. The game will take place in the same universe as this summer’s animated film. No trailer has been revealed just yet, but we do have a piece of artwork for you to check out below.

Outright focuses largely on family-friendly games. Some of the franchises they’ve worked with in the past include Transformers and Jumanji. The Mutant Mayhem game will feature an art style much like the movie. Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but it’s said to take place several months after the film. That makes it a sequel of sorts that may be essential for hardcore fans. Paramount already has a movie sequel and a two-season TV show in the works for Paramount+ as well. So this iteration of the franchise is blossoming nicely. Outright Games COO Stephanie Malham had this to say in a statement.
“Nickelodeon is one of our longest-standing licensing collaborators and we’re overjoyed to have the opportunity to bring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to life in a brand new and original video game. This is one of the most enduring and beloved franchises in the world and we’re beyond excited to use our expertise to expand the Turtles’ global reach even further through the world of video games.”

“Combining energetic ninja teamwork gameplay with a humorous narrative, players will take control of the Turtles as they interact with a host of memorable characters from the franchise and fight to save this stylized take on New York City from a new mutant threat.”
This continues a very fruitful period for the TMNT franchise. For one, TMNT: The Last Ronin became one of the most beloved storylines in the history of the characters. A sequel is on the way, and it is also being turned into a video game. Also on the video game side of things, we had the old-school side-scroller Shredder’s Revenge released last year to widespread acclaim. In short, it’s a good time to be a fan of the heroes in a half-shell.
