#5 Most Weird and Wonderful Marvel Theme Park Rides

Marvel TV shows and movies; were the talk of the town at D23 and that’s not a surprise. Big names like Werewolf by Night and Thunderbolts also gave space to King Thanos who is believed to face heroes from all over the multiverse. Having such a bright future in sight, this is not a regular Marvel movie. Instead, it is a whole Disneyland of the future.

Talking about such land that makes us go crazy, Marvel’s theme park history is not far left behind. Marvel theme parks and rides have such weird historic stories to them that today, there are two different Spider-Man rides on two different coasts, run by rival theme park companies! Read on…

Pre-Six Flags Great Adventure

Located in New Jersey, this one is home to 14 world-class coasters and thrilling family rides. Before Marvel rides came into existence, you could see only three superheroes roaming around and greeting children in 1977. These were Spider-Man, Captain America, and Ms. Marvel dressed in their elite costumes meeting the crowd. Owned and operated by Six Flags, Great Adventure continues to manufacture rollercoasters after DC heroes and please the crowd.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Previously known as Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, this theme park is located in Florida. Islands of Adventure gets more crowd when it comes to theme parks as it has something for the whole family. It also showcases kid-friendly shows and attractions. Even a 5-year-old can have fun here! Universal Islands of Adventure opened in May 1999 filled with easter eggs everywhere and a vibrant environment. Everywhere you looked, you would see gigantic images of Captain America, MODOK, Magneto, Iceman, Kingpin, Namor, and more.

Spider-Man’s Live Shows

Spider-Man has been one true love for every kid and having a show with him – is UNMISSABLE. England’s Thorpe Park hosted The Amazing Spider-Man Show from 2003 to 2004. A live event showing stunts with loud music in the backdrop, this one was a blast! Seeing Spider-Man climbing the walls was everyone’s wish. The crowd would dance to the music and have a fun gala time.

Marvel Adventure City

A 30,000-square-foot entertainment complex featuring Marvel Comics-based rides, arcade games, food, and merchandise, this was an indoor theme park. The best thing about Marvel Adventure City is that it went by the name – THE CITY HAD EVERYTHING. The most unmissable thing was the black-colored Spider-Man: The Ultimate Ride. You could be a part of this ride by shooting targets like Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Electro to help Spider-Man. In the end, you would see all of them trapped in cobwebs. This one was a crazy ride!

IMG Worlds of Adventure

Dubai’s first mega-themed entertainment destination is also the largest one there. It is divided into five epic zones including a restaurant called Downtown Shawarma which was designed on Marvel’s classic comic book versions. Huge Marvel rides were a bang-on for this Adventure Park. One could also spot superheroes in action like Hulk Epsilon Base 3D, Thor Thunder Spin, Spider-Man Doc Ock’s Revenge, etc. in between the rides.
