The fans have been waiting for the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer for too long - and, as it seems, they will be waiting for some more until catching the first glimpse of the new X-Men extravaganza.
There have been quite a few rumors until now, regarding the first trailer, some of which were reported on this site also. Thus, we did say that the first trailer will be released in front of Mad Max: Fury Road, so quite a while ago. If it was released back then, then it would have had 1 year from the trailer until the actual movie hit.
And while we are also fans waiting for the trailer, we do understand why this excitement and this lack of patience - Batman v Superman debuted the first trailer while it had more than one year left until it was released. But Bryan Singer is more seasoned a director than Zack Snyder and he is not in a hurry. Even if the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer was leaked online, he did not succumb to all the pressure to release it in high resolution.
As a matter of fact, both he and the studio were displeased with the leakage, since the Comic Con clip was never meant for a larger audience. With the FX far from being completed, the leaked trailer did a disservice to the movie itself (Apoc being compared to a campy Power Rangers villain).
But now the fans can rest assured, as far as the trailer is concerned - check out the next page for more details on this story!
Star Wars bringing the Apocalypse
But now the time of rumors is over!
Just to make a quick recap, this year has seen the release of just 3 major superhero flicks, two of them coming from Marvel studios, while one from Fox. On the other hand, next year will see the release of 7 flicks (not counting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel) - so we will have our fair share of trailers and clips in the following months.
The movie to open next year is Deadpool, also produced by Fox. Talking with Deadline, producer Simon Kinberg revealed quite a few new details about the Merc with a Mouth. Besides telling the fans once again that Deadpool is a part of the Mutant Cinematic Universe, he also offered new info about X-Men: Apocalypse.
Thus, while talking about Apocalypse's trailer being featured in front of The Martian (another rumor debunked by time itself), Kinberg said, "I can in fact confirm that information. Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it's certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it." So there you have it! One more reason to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, if you needed it! Want one more? Head on to the next page!
Apocalypse and Civil War during Star Wars VII
If it is indeed a surprise seeing Apocalypse in front of Star Wars (and it is one, since these are two competing studios), it makes sense for another superhero flick to debut its much awaited trailer in front of the same movie.
And that flick is Captain America: Civil War. Disney owns both the Star Wars movie, as well as Marvel Studios - but why do we have to wait for so long? We know that The Force Awakens is about a month from being released. But still!
Marvel and Fox could at least ramp up the marketing campaign with some new cool images, or some character posters, or whatever"¦
Will you see Star Wars? We bet you will too!
