Transformers 5 - First Look at Megatron

Megatron

The Transformers series has been bashed more and more by the critics with each movie released. But this didn't stop it from becoming one of the most successful franchises ever. Thus, four movies and $3.770 billion later, a new movie is upon us, called Transformers: The Last Knight.

There isn't too much known about the movie, other than having Mark Wahlberg once again as the main star and Josh Duhamel reprising his role from the original trilogy. It is also known that this will be yet again the last Transformers movie directed by Michael Bay

However, there is something more. A new teaser video has revealed who the movie’s main antagonist will be. And, quite surprisingly (or maybe not), that antagonist is Megatron - who has met his end twice thus far, in both the first and third installments.

Previous rumors said that a new villain will appear. But now we know that Unicron is being saved for later on - do you even doubt that Transformers: The Last Knight will make a ton of money at the box office, thus securing the future of the franchise?!?

Check out the clip below, with the new Megatron design!

Having Unicron as the main antagonist would have been a change of pace for the franchise. And it would have been something different, given the villain's motivations from the animated series and the comics. And this would have put the Transformers and their leader against a force larger than anything they have encountered before.

But we guess Michael Bay is playing it safe with this one. Megatron is a character the general audiences are familiar with, as opposed to Unicron, who is known only to hardcore fans. The movie is set to begin shooting this June.
