"Jarvis, drop my needle": did you ever imagine Tony Stark's words would give a lead to a Christmas song? Yes, they do now: The Avengers have reunited to sing a carol that will most certainly put a smile on your face. Iron Man, gorgeous Thor, Nick Fury, Captain America and their fellow superheroes, even the baddies of the Marvel Universe, Loki included, reconcile to wish you a Merry Christmas.
Don't fret: Avengers: Age of Ultron was not brought forward. It is still due for arrival in theaters in early May, 2015. No, no unexpected reboot of the 2012 prequel either. Nothing like that. The Avengers managed to steal Santa's thunder right under his nose.
The Avengers carol, Groot jingles along
YouTuber James Covenant has graced us with a funny heartfelt video: he clipped and put together footages from The Avengers. Peppy piano notes accompany the superheroes' words, following the melodic line of one of the most cheerful season tunes. It's a Merry Christmas like you've never seen or heard before.
The Black Widow does make an appearance or two - but, then again, when is she ever there without drawing attention? An ever so subtle Pepper Potts is also worked out in the video, playing two "happy" notes right before the swift finale of Tony Stark.
Groot also makes an appearance. In fact, the entire denouement of this droll material belongs to Groot. He apparently keeps on introducing himself, which is ok with the public. His tree-ish mumbo-jumbo is subtitled in plain English: he only sings Jingle Bells much to the surprise of The Avengers characters featured in the video, and to the surprise of us all.
Did you enjoy the material? Quite a funny crazy quilt, isn't it? With all these footages from The Avengers pieced together, plus Groot to make a memorable ending, our inspired YouTuber really brings out the comic quality in the comic book movie.
