This latest Star Wars 8 report comes from Making Star Wars, a website that has a great track record in accurately reporting rumors concerning Star Wars. So, even if this isn’t an official announcement, the following scene description can be considered spoilery.
And that is because it ties in perfectly with what we saw in the finale of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, when Rey finally meets Luke Skywalker. So, if you want to be spoiled, check it out below!
At the end of The Force Awakens, Luke and Rey finally meet, alone, on an island. According to Making Star Wars, they are not really alone. Instead, Rey has been followed by the Knights of Ren, led by Kylo Ren, and they are there to kill the last remaining Jedi. While it isn't specified, we can only assume that only Kylo and Luke are wielding lightsabers.
An enraged Kylo attacks Rey, who cannot face him (as presumed, he did pull his punches during the final confrontation of Star Wars: The Force Awakens). In the meantime, the remaining Knights of Ren attack Luke. However, he is too experienced for them, and he dispatches one without even igniting his lightsaber. He literally mows them all down, and then approaches Kylo.
Seeing how powerful the Jedi really is, Kylo retreats.
As said, this ties in perfectly with what we saw in the final scenes of The Force Awakens. However, a question could be asked - if Luke is indeed so powerful, why didn't he deal with the Knights of Ren as soon as they attacked his Jedi Academy?
Anyway, this seems to be one badass scene, a fight like nothing we’ve seen in a long time. Furthermore, it is more than welcome, since it showcases (finally) why Luke is considered to be so powerful.
