Resident Evil is about to come to an end after more than a decade, with 5 movies already released based on the very successful video game franchise. During all this time, Resident Evil gathered fans that are thrilled for the upcoming Resident Evil The Final Chapter which will be released in 2017.
Besides revealing the plot, Screen Gems have also revealed the final cast for Resident Evil The Final Chapter. Some members, we already know, while others are brand new. As for surprises, there is at least one.
Who will play the heroine?
Being the heroic Alice in the previous five movies is quite an act of consistency. Who else but Milla Jovovich could have taken the role of Alice? I think that was obvious, unless something strange came up in the way of this.
Back in 2012 Milla Jovovich talked in an interview about how the role of each character changes with each movie, and how this is what appeals to the public:
"Every time we see Alice, it's like some different iteration of the same person," the 36-year-old actress said. "I think there's definitely been an evolution. It's not like we're repeating the same stuff over and over and regurgitating things over and over, so it keeps it fresh and keeps it interesting." Herocomplex
We expect this time Alice to be a "different iteration of the same person" and that keeps us excited about the next and probably last chapter of Resident Evil series.

Old members of the cast
It has been confirmed that Ali Later will comeback in the role of Claire Redfield. She started to play the role of Claire Redfield in 2007 in Resident Evil Extinction, then in Resident Evil Afterlife. We did not see her in Resident Evil Retribution but here she is again in Resident Evil The Final Chapter.
He made his debut as a villain, back in 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife and since then, the character of Albert Wesker is familiar to the fans of this video game movie franchise.
Last time he was seen, this villain was the head of Umbrella Corporation and betraying Alice. Shawn Roberts will continue to portray Albert Wesker in Resident Evil The Final Chapter as well.
Iain Glen is going to be a part of the cast and probably in the role of Dr. Alexander Isaacs. We know him from previous Resident Evil chapters and from HBO series Game of Thrones. In Game of Thrones, Iain Glen plays the role of lovesick Jorah Mormont.

Who is new and what is the surprise
I will start with the surprise and that is the presence of Ruby Rose. She is an actress and a model, but not an ordinary one. She is quite eccentric and I bet that her appearance will spice up the movie.
There is no information about her role in Resident Evil The Final Chapter, but some may know her for the role in Orange Is The New Black TV series. In OITNB she was a bit of a villain, but the hypocrite kind, that plays nicely preparing a bad, final strike. It will be interesting to find out what kind of role will play in Resident Evil.

Fans of Merlin series will be thrilled to hear that Eoin Macken will also be a part of the cast. There are no details about the role he will be playing but we are looking forward.
Another name in the cast is that of William Levy. He is not popular although he tried to build up a career in movies. Until now, his most notable role is the one in Resident Evil The final Chapter. He will probably be more successful after this project, but depending on his role and how well he will perform.

The official synopsis of the movie
After reading the synopsis, seems like Alice will have a very hard time. More obstacles to overcome, last few survivors under the Umbrella Corporation’s threat and new mutant monsters:

Paul W.S. Anderson has produced all the five video game adaptations of Resident Evil and he will also produce last one. And, by the way, did you know that he is Milla Jovovich's husband?
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will hit theatres on January 27,2017.
