Colossus’s presence in ‘Deadpool’ is influential

It is known that Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson will headline 2016's Deadpool. But we really don’t know much about the Deadpool besides some behind-the-scenes footage and a teaser trailer. Marketing of this Marvel superhero movie remains covert by the filmmakers.

The entire story is developed over a shootout on a bridge, however, in a true sense, this is mostly rumor based on leaked online pictures and only a scanty part of the adventure. The inclusion of X-Men character Colossus is one of the twists of this movie. Many believe that this inclusion is a mere cameo to pacify Mutant fans and draw them to the theater.

However, considering all rumors and facts, it is comfortably clear that we are going to get quite a bit of Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin on the big screen in next February.

Find out what the movie creator discloses

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld admits big presence of Colossus

During a Q&A session, the amazing Hawaii Comic-Con responded frankly about the long-awaited Deadpool and the Colossus factor. Rob Liefeld had this to say about the inclusion

“You guys have seen a glimpse of him in the trailer; at San Diego in Hall H, they showed a little bit more of Colossus. You are going to love Colossus in Deadpool. He’s in it a good amount; he doesn’t just walk through the movie.”

Pitor Rasputin is one of the most powerful X-Men to ever fight for Professor Xavier with the ability to transform his body into organic steel. This well-liked "˜Colossus' was originally played by Daniel Cudmore in X2: X-Men United. He was offered to play the same in Deadpool and while that was not the case the character is now actually protrayed by Andre Tricoteux.

According to CinemaBlend, Rob Liefeld also told the eager fans that while Deadpool is very much a distillation of the core traits of its titular character, they should not expect a direct adaptation of any specific storylines because Deadpool and Colossus do not have a rich history of stories together to draw from.

Ryan Reynolds has been the trump card for Deadpool

The successful attachment of the Star with the title character

In the field of superhero movies, Ryan Reynolds is not a stranger. He played the title role in Green Lantern and even before that he appeared in the Marvel sequel Blade: Trinity. The Green Lantern was not a "˜box-office hit' movie, though.

Since 2004, Ryan Reynolds is entitled to play the character Wade Wilson and it's been a long-awaited movie. Therefore, when the shooting of the movie began earlier this year it was truly a big deal for the whole team. But how did Ryan Reynolds take the experience from Green Lantern and turn that into a positive one for Deadpool?

“Deadpool was different because there wasn’t a big budget attached to it. There was not a tremendous responsibility to meet some kind of bottom line. Those kinds of superhero movies when you’re out front, there’s a vast and quite frightening budget attached to them. This one had a super-reasonable budget, and it was subversive and a little bit different, and to me a little refreshing in the comic-book world. But you always have trepidation. When you’re out front, you have trepidation.”

A witty remark about Colossus

The X-Men character holds a significant grip on the plot

Deadpool tells the story of former Special Forces operative Wade Wilson who after being subjected to a rogue experiment adopts the alter ego Deadpool. With a combo of his twisted sense of humor and new abilities, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Colossus appeared in varying capacities in different sequels of X-Men franchise only to play the part of team muscle. However, what we heard and seen so far, 2016 is going to be the turning point for the character.

Deadpool will be the first Fox produced Marvel film where the activities of Colossus have a significant impact on the overall plot of the film. Having seen a glimpse of the character in the official trailer and also in the leaked online footage it's a strong prediction that Deadpool has a substantial role for Colossus.

To know for sure, we will have to wait until February as Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero Deadpool will hit theaters on February 12, 2016. But it already created a sense of pleasant impatience, isn't it?
