X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to begin shooting in Montreal soon, and we already have some information about the seventh movie in the core X-Men franchise. We know that the shared universe will finally expand into outer space by introducing the Shi'ar Empire, which plays a very important role in the Dark Phoenix Saga.
We also know that the majority of the main actors from the underwhelming X-Men: Apocalypse are going to return. And now, Omega Underground has reported that yet another actor may have joined the cast.
According to the website, Olivia Munn was spotted in Toronto with a large suitcase, as if she intended to spend quite a lot of time there. With shooting set to begin there this month, Omega Underground speculated that Munn would either have a larger role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, or she’ll shoot her scenes early, and then move on to another project.
And Munn does have a few projects lined up, including Shane Black's The Predator, Ocean's Eight, and The Lego Ninjago Movie.
Simon Kinberg had a number of characters to juggle even before this rumored new addition. Will he be able to handle this task? The under-use of so many characters was one of our biggest disappointments with X-Men: Apocalypse. And that movie was directed by Bryan Singer, who had directed numerous movies.
On the other hand, this is Simon Kinberg's directorial debut. So we feel justified in wondering whether he’s up to the task. Besides the sheer number of characters involved, X-Men: Dark Phoenix will adapt one of the most well-known X-Men story lines.
So what do you think? Will Psylocke return? And how will Simon Kinberg be able to handle all of those characters?
