Alien:Covenant is already a name that rings a bell for most of us, as Ridley Scott is going to expand the Alien franchise with Covenant and two more prequels. In fact, the upcoming Alien trilogy will serve as sequels to Prometheus and prequels to 1979 Alien. The science-fiction adventure will be filmed later this year in Australia but one member of the crew will be absent, and that is Noomi Rapace.
Ridley Scott himself confirmed that Rapace will not feature in the film while speaking to The Daily Mail: “I asked if Noomi Rapace, who was in his film Prometheus (from which Covenant follows), would be working with him in Australia and he said no. "˜We're still casting the main roles,' he said.”
In Prometheus, Rapace played the role of Dr. Elizabeth Shaw who lead the expedition in search for the creators of mankind. Michael Fassbender playing the role of humanoid robot who was the only one alongside Shaw to survive at the end of the movie, will reprise the role of David. Why is Rapace out of the game? We don’t know.

Another member of the cast is Inherent Vice star Katherine Waterston, who will play the role of a woman named Daniels. There are not more details about the role but some suggest that she might be a relative of Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley.
The legendary filmmaker has a lot of experience to know what are the best decisions when it comes to a movie like Alien:Covenant. And let’s not forget his top choices for female leads in The Martian and 1979 Alien. He is surely preparing something good, as he strongly believes that "you never release a film until you're certain you've done the best you can,." (The Guardian)
Production will start later this year in Australia and the film is scheduled to open in theaters on October 6, 2017.
