Back in March, we came across a report suggesting that a sequel to the Assassin's Creed movie was already in the works, with Michael Fassbender set to return as Callum Lynch and his Assassin ancestor from 15th century Spain, Aguilar de Nerha. With less than a week remaining before the movie rolls into theaters, Fassbender has finally commented about potential sequels.
While speaking to Cinema Blend, the Irish-German actor revealed that there are plans for not just one, but two, Assassin's Creed sequels. However, he insisted that they will move forward with the franchise only if the first movie proves to be successful:
This is the sort of origin of his story. We have an idea of where he’s going to go over the next two films. We kind of did a three-film arc. We’ll wait and see how people respond to this, but for sure, we have an idea of where he’s going to go next.
While Hollywood's video-game adaptations are known for NOT living up to expectations, Assassin's Creed might be the trend-breaker. At least, that's what fans who got the opportunity to attend the movie's world premiere in New York City a few days ago seemed to suggest. Check out some of their reactions below!

Assassin's Creed is the second movie in which Michael Fassbender has teamed up with Marion Cotillard and director Justin Kurzel. The first was last year's Macbeth. Cotillard is playing the Animus project's leading scientist, Sophia Rikkin, in the movie. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the French actress described her character as a scientist whose entire body of research is "meant to find a cure against violence":
She's studied people her whole career, and she's created an environment where she can use these people to get to the origin of violence and try to find a cure"¦In the world that we live in, it's very interesting to play a character who wants to make the world a better place. At the same time, she's using people to do so, sometimes in a very scientific way. So it's a real paradox, what she does and how she does it.
