With its release date just a month away, Hugh Jackman's Logan promises to be one of the best movies of the year. Previews of the final Wolverine installment, which will premiere this month at the Berlin International Film Festival, received standing ovations. It will be interesting to see how well it performs with the critics.
The festival's website has revealed the movie’s runtime. It’s been clocked at two hours, fifteen minutes, just one minute shorter than the previous Wolverine flick. So this should be plenty of time for Hugh Jackman to introduce X-23 in the Mutant Shared Universe.
The Berlin International Film Festival website also features a more detailed synopsis for Logan. Check it out below, via CBM:
In 2024 the mutant population has shrunk significantly and the X-Men have disbanded. Logan, whose power to self-heal is dwindling, has surrendered himself to alcohol and now earns a living as a chauffeur. He takes care of the ailing old Professor X, whom he keeps hidden away. One day, a female stranger asks Logan to drive a girl named Laura to the Canadian border. At first he refuses, but the Professor has been waiting for a long time for her to appear. Laura possesses an extraordinary fighting prowess and is in many ways like Wolverine. She is pursued by sinister figures working for a powerful corporation; this is because her DNA contains the secret that connects her to Logan. A relentless pursuit begins.
Are we the only ones who see a sinister connection here? We guess not. James Mangold did say that Logan won't feature Mister Sinister - but that doesn't mean that will not be dropped…
