The mammoth success of Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past must have ramped up your expectation for his next project X-Men: Apocalypse. The follow-up will hit the theatres on 27 May, 2016 and by now you have heard a lot of gossips on the movie like the 1980s period piece, the Mystique- Magneto love and shortlist of cast for younger versions of Cyclops and Jean Grey. The latest update that we have in store for you is that Essence's Sexiest Man of 2013 might be playing the title of the movie, the super villain Apocalypse!
What Makes Us Think That Way?
Previously, you've heard of The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy to be sought after for the role. But, The Wrap's Jeff Sneider recently claims that there have been three names shortlisted and Tom isn't one of them. He didn't reveal the names but dropped a hint saying "˜We heard him say the word apocalypse a lot last year'. It was Thor star Idris Elba, who in one of his 2013 movies Pacific Rim, stated a line with the word "˜apocalypse' that went viral. We have also witnessed him repeating it again and again in his social media account. While X-Men: Apocalypse needs their title villain to be a magnetic mutant leader, who in the earth can fit more perfectly than the Golden Globe winning actor?
Is It The Reason To Leave King Arthur?
It was in August when we first came to know that Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie might cast Elba for the role Merlin in his upcoming movie Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur. The movie is scheduled for a 22 July, 2016 release. But it was just last week when news broke out that talks between the two parties have failed and Ritchie is approaching Jude Law for the role. That might not have made any sense to you until you heard of Sneider's hint. If you match the two events, you must have already realized the chances of the rumor to come alive! Now, let's see, if Thor and Luther star, who has already a load of projects in his bag, finds himself free for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse.
