After the enormous success of Marvel's Shared Universe movie approach, a good number of the studios, including DC, Warner Bros, Universal and Sony, have hit upon plans to follow the same with whatever they have. In a recent facebook sharing under the title "˜Carts Before Horses & Hollywood's New Love of Shared Universes', writer-director of this year's biggest domestic hit Guardians of the Galaxy expresses his concerns over this new model which he terms "flawed".

What James Enlightened In His Post

Right at the beginning of his post, James clarified that he doesn't have problems with all the Shared Universal movies and that he loves many of them. He mentioned the names "˜Star Wars', "˜Twilight', "˜Iron Man' and "˜Transformers' as the ones fans would love to watch again and again. But he strongly criticized the new trend of the studios as well as directors that leads them to start on mega-franchises before having a base movie released which he coined as "trying to grow trees without a strong seed". What James Gunn Might Have Indicated

Two weeks before this post, Universal declared their plan to form a "˜Shared Universe Monster mega-franchise'. It was just last month when Sony introduced the concept of a "˜Robin Hood Shared Universe'. Warner Bros are rumored to have planned a series of six movies for their upcoming "˜King Arthur'. James didn't mention any of these studio or franchise's names, but you might find some clues in the post that direct you towards the assumption that these might be his probable targets!
