First Look at David Harbour as Hellboy; Daniel Dae Kim Confirms that He’s In!

The first look at David Harbour's Hellboy arrives as Daniel Dae Kim confirms involvement!

We've already seen fan art that depicts David Harbour as Hellboy. But now we finally have the first official photos of the Stranger Things star as Anung Un Rama.

Our first look at the R-rated Hellboy reboot’s main character turned up on the Lionsgate/Millennium project’s newly created Twitter account. In addition, the 42-year-old Harbour shared a black-and-white photo of his character via his Twitter account. For some reason, he’s since deleted the tweet, but the good news is that we have the photo for you here!

Harbour's Big Red bears a striking resemblance to Ron Perlman's version in Guillermo del Toro’s movies from 2004 and 2008. You could even confuse the two, because they’re both faithful to the comic book character. Check them out here:

We recently learned that Daniel Dae Kim (LostHawaii Five-0) was in talks to replace Deadpool star Ed Skrein as Major Ben Daimio in the Hellboy reboot. We now have confirmation from The Korean-American actor that he’s officially joined the cast. In conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, he spoke highly of Skrein, who left the project soon after he learned that the Dark Horse Comics  was of Japanese heritage:

I applaud the producers and, in particular, Ed Skrein for championing the notion that Asian characters should be played by Asian or Asian-American actors. He could not have addressed the issue more elegantly, and I remain indebted to him for his strength of character.

Here’s the synopsis of the upcoming Neil Marshall flick:

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.
