Back when Days of Future Past was released, everybody feared that Bryan Singer had crammed too many mutants into a single movie, based on the fact that almost all of them appeared on the cover of the Empire Magazine. However, as soon as the flick was released, it became pretty obvious - it was just fan-service, since most of these characters played a secondary role.
Don't get us wrong - it was excellent. And that’s because the director decided to populate the movie's universe only with the well-known characters from the comics. And this is something that should be done in all of the superhero flicks.
This year, history seems to be repeating itself with X-Men: Apocalypse. You might have heard that the new roster of young mutants also includes characters who won't have such a big impact on the plot of the film, such as Jubilee.
Today a new pic from the set has revealed the presence of yet another famous character from the comics - Blob, who was portrayed by Kevin Durand in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Obviously, his role is not significant. However, he does play a part in the introduction of one of the Four Horsemen.
The image is taken before Angel becomes Archangel, before he was saved by Apocalypse. If we were to guess, Blob is the ruling champion of the ring, until Angel arrives - after all, the villainous mutant is riddled with bruises and cuts.
In other news, Fox has confirmed that a new trailer is on its way, and that it will arrive sooner than we have expected - tomorrow. With this announcement, the studio has also released a couple of new (and pretty neat) photos. So check them out below!
