Denzel Washington Won’t Say No to Superhero Roles

The star of movies such as Malcom X, Training Day, and Fences, Denzel Washington has already appeared in a comic book movie adaptation. Back in 2013, the actor starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in the fun, although not that successful, 2 Guns.

However, Denzel Washington hasn't appeared until now in a proper superhero film. However, while promoting The Equalizer 2, the actor did reveal that he wouldn't say no to a role in a superhero flick.

"I haven't been approached… we'll see what happens. Never say never." (JOE.ie)

The 63 years old actor has been a frequent collaborator of Antoine Fuqua. The director has revealed a week ago that he has was approached to direct a superhero movie for the MCU and that he has already discussed such a possibility with Sony (HeyUGuys).

Seeing that his most successful movies to date have starred Denzel Washington, one could suspect that he'll bring the actor with him for a superhero movie.

The actor has also revealed that he has been impressed to tears of the reaction people had to Black Panther. While promoting The Equalizer 2, the actor revealed that he was invited by Ryan Coogler to the premier of the movie. And this has brought him the feeling of fulfilment, given the enthusiasm all people manifested towards the movie:

"Black Panther, I shed a tear. I was sitting in there "” I ran into Chad and Ryan before the movie started, it was their premiere, or the screening in New York, and just talking to them and they went into the movie "” and the 40 years I've been in this game came back to me. I said, "˜Man, look at these young boys, man.' And I actually "” I just started [crying].

I was like, whew. You know, Sidney, to now? And I'm in the gap "” me and many others "” are in the gap, but it was like, man. I felt like the third leg of the relay race. Like, "˜here, go.' Now, I ran behind them "” I'm still running. But I was like, man, they gone. They're gone." (Joe.co.uk)
