Days of Future Past - Rogue Cut Release Date Revealed

X-Men: Days of Future Past

While X-Men: Days of Future Past can be considered one of the better X-Men films, it still had its fair share of continuity errors - and the biggest one concerned the all-powerful Sentinels. While we know how they evolved, with Mystique's DNA providing a boost to their powers, we still don't know (so to speak) how they have managed to mimic all the mutants' superpowers.

And we say so to speak because we know that Rogue had a key role in the development of the Sentinels, a role which (unfortunately) ended up on the cutting room floor. But X-Men: Days of Future Past will see an extended cut, with the release date just revealed!

Still, despite leaving a whole essential subplot out of the cinemas, Days of Future Past made quite a splash at the box-office, being just shy of the $750 million mark. Still, it would have been nice to see Anna Paquin become again Rogue, especially since her part in the creation of the sentinels was more than important.

But now Bryan Singer has just announced when we will get to see that extended cut. So check out his announcement on Twitter!

Details from Simon Kinberg

According to writer Simon Kinberg, a whole action scene featuring Rogue was cut from Days of Future Past. In it, the older Professor X and Magneto attempt a rescue mission, during which they save Rogue from captivity. They needed to do that in order to have her absorb Kitty Pryde's powers, after she was injured by Wolverine.

However, this rescue mission didn't make it into the film - Kitty Pryde's role became, thus, even more essential, with her having to hold on even more, despite being wounded.

So will you buy the extended cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past on the 14th of July to see how the movie might have been? We can bet that the action sequence isn't one to be missed.
