The actor who will portray the young Han Solo in the as yet untitled Han Solo Anthology movie has already been found. Hail, Caesar! star Aldren Ehrenreich has been signed to portray the younger version of Harrison Ford's iconic Star Wars character in the Phil Lord and Christopher Miller venture.
We know that there were a whole lot of actors who auditioned for the role of young Han Solo. The possibilities included Fantastic Four star Miles Teller. But what we didn't know until now is that Marvel's Daredevil star Charlie Cox auditioned, as well!
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter Charlie, 33, reveals:
I had gone to an audition "” one of those things that are super secretive and they don't tell you, but I'm pretty sure it was for the Han Solo reboot"¦
So, why didn't he get the part? According to Charlie Cox, it had something to do with his Matt Murdock role! The actor states that the casting director stopped him halfway through the audition and asked "Why aren't you looking at me?" He then adds:
I realized I had gotten into a habit of not making eye contact, because the only thing I had done for two years is play someone who is blind. I never got invited back, probably because they couldn't figure out why I was acting like a complete idiot.
So, portraying The Man Without Fear cost him a shot at portraying the young Han Solo role! Yes, the truth can be hilarious!
However, Charlie Cox doesn't think he’ll encounter any further problems with playing sighted characters. He is playing six such characters in the off-Broadway play Incognito. But he isn't sure whether he will find it easy when he goes back to playing Daredevil again!
