Black Panther Star Feels Batman v Superman Lacked “A Clear Voice From The Director”!

Chadwick Boseman weighs in on what went wrong with Batman v Superman!

At the beginning of this year, all eyes were on two of the biggest superhero movies of the year - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War. While I personally enjoyed both, there are many who could only love the latter. The second DC Extended Universe installment was no match for the thirteenth Marvel Cinematic Universe installment in terms of both critical response and box office performance.

By now, we have seen numerous articles on the web comparing the two movies and analyzing what was wrong about one and right about the other. Now, Chadwick Boseman, who was introduced as Black Panther in Civil War, has recently weighed in on where Batman v Superman may have gone wrong.

While speaking to Radio Times, the actor reveals that he was there with his "popcorn and everything" to watch the Zack Snyder flick on its "first night". Claiming that he is "not exactly sure what they did wrong", he adds:

But I feel like sometimes you see a movie - and I could be wrong, or saying this because I'm in the industry - you can see that there's at times [too] many people deciding something. That there's not a clear voice from the director. Sometimes when you watch movies you see that the producers are saying something, someone else is saying something, the directors are saying something. And sometimes, it doesn't work.

While Boseman feels that's why Batman v Superman may have not worked, he doesn't believe that's exactly the reason. He insists that there's "no way of knowing that" for him, and that he's just comparing from the observation of his own experience in the MCU. According to the 39-year-old actor:

I just feel like, what I have experienced at Marvel is that the directors are very much making the movie. So maybe that's it.
