Batman v Superman: Shooting Concluded. The Waiting Game Is On

It's a wrap: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, to be released in 2016, has finally concluded. Shooting, that is, has come to an end. Indeed, a piece of news that's puts a smile on your face, though you have no idea why you smile for. The plot remains unknown, certain characters are still unconfirmed. Plenty is yet to be made public. What we now know for sure is filming has concluded.

A little over one year remains for producers and directors to clip and cut and add and put in place footage after footage. The finishing touch that is meant to turn Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice into a sellout. It's been a while since the announcement of the spinoff, immediately after Man of Steel hit the big screens in 2013. So, one can easily imagine: 3 years of constantly increasing tension with no teasers released to appease curiosity.

No leaks, no teasers - DC Comics and Warner Bros envelop Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in complete secrecy

What is particularly curious about Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is in 7 months of shooting no footage aired out from DC. Not even the most inquisitive of snappers circling the crew or the sets has managed to leak anything. The occasional image of locations surely did no justice to the craving comics fan.

It is to Larry Fong, the production's director of photography, that we owe this new official disclosure. After some 7 months of shooting, this release comes as a hammer blow that increases tension and feeds speculations. Some celebrate DC's ability to defy the nowadays trend of massively trailer-ing.

For some, this couple of seconds long clip says nothing - after all, these are just a few snowflakes falling down on a black"¦ something. But we believe that Larry Fong chose very carefully this image: it is a very subtle reference to an iconic moment in both the Batman and the Superman lore. It is a hint that we, the fans, will indeed see the Man of Steal squaring off against the Dark Knight. It is a hint that indeed the words will be uttered: I want you to remember.

It is a moment many of us have expected - the clash of DC's titans is coming and it will be just like we have envisioned it.

In this new light, what you see in the picture is not rain. It is sleet - and the Man of Steel will meet his destiny. Just like Batman.
