The Alien: Covenant prologue, titled The Last Supper, introduced the Covenant’s crew and revealed their hopes. Following that, a new (probably final) trailer for the anticipated Prometheus sequel has been released that is expertly edited and more intense than the first.
Its simple tagline hints at the horrors that await:
The path to paradise begins in hell.
It's not as catchy as In space no one can hear you scream, but it works, especially given the prologue’s title. It makes sense, because the new planet seems to be a paradise. But appearances are deceiving, especially since this is also the planet where Elizabeth Shaw and David crash-landed.
We also see how infection spreads among the crew and learn the identity of the unlucky host of the new type of xenomorph (or, at least, this is what the editing team wants us to believe). The Engineer ship in which Shaw and David fled at the end of Prometheus is there, but no survivor is revealed (maybe because Noomi Rapace just cameos in the film via some recordings on the crashed ship).
There are plenty of hidden things for us to discover in this clip. So check out the Alien: Covenant trailer below!
The new alien, the Neomorph, is the biggest reveal of all. It follows the classic Xenomorph and Face-Hugger, but it looks terrifying and is most likely much more powerful than its predecessors. AvP Galaxy on the Neomorphs:
When they mature, they grow significantly larger and walk on their back legs. They are more animal-like in behavior, with fang-like teeth. Unlike the earlier Prometheus concepts, the Neomorphs also have tails. In addition, the adult Neomorphs also develop a slightly translucent appearance (harkening back to unused concepts from Alien and Prometheus), as previously rumored.
All in all, Alien: Covenant is one of the most anticipated 2017 releases, and this trailer shows us why.
Alien: Covenant will be released on the 19th of May.
