In a top of the 20 most viewed trailers of 2014, The Hollywood Reporter lists an unexpected number of fantasy / sci-fi titles. However, that should come as no surprise if you think visually and plot-wise - at least - these genres are the most rewarding. "˜Cause what is fiction, in the end, if not an attempt to face-lift reality or downright replace it with a better version of it?
While Fifty Shades of Gray tops the bill, it is closely followed by trailers of some of the most eagerly awaited comic book movies due to arrive in theaters in 2015 and in 2016. Released under the banner of 20th Century Fox, X-Men: Days of Future Past comes 14th, scoring no less than 32 million views for its second trailer.
37 million vies for the first trailer of Transformers: Age of Extinction. That score brings the flick a well-deserved 12th place in this top.
