Thor 3 might seem to be another experiment from Marvel, considering the fact that it will adapt two, or maybe even three, storylines from the comics. But it can also be considered an experiment in the vein of The Winter Soldier, considering who directs it. Thus, Taika Waititi is another director known mainly for his comedies to join the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Taika Waititi is having fun on the set of Thor: Ragnarok. And this is always a good thing, as far as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is concerned. When everybody is having fun, it shows in the movie. And since the final Thor is set to be partly a buddy-road movie, it will be great.
During an interview with Digital Spy, director Taika Waititi revealed that everything’s going according to plan with Thor: Ragnarok. However, he also added that it's going so great since there was no plan to begin with. Obviously, he was joking.
And that’s even if the production of Thor: Ragnarok is way longer than the production of any of these movies. This comes to say once again that Marvel has indeed planned each step of the way, with the directors being trusted with uniting the pieces of the puzzle.
The director also said that it's going great, and that he and the cast are having so much fun, he even intends to return for another Thor flick, if given the chance. Which sounds amazing - if a fourth Thor flick is ever to be made. We doubt that this franchise will be the first one in the MCU to receive a fourth movie.
However, Taika Waititi might still have another chance to direct a Marvel flick. Considering that James Gunn isn't so certain about returning for a third Guardians of the Galaxy, maybe Marvel will hire Waititi to direct it.
Thor: Ragnarok will be released on the 3rd of November 2017.
And, by the looks of it, it will be the best in the trilogy!
