As the starting point for a third Spider-Man trilogy, Spider-Man: Homecoming confirmed that the world wants to see Spider-Man movies. Despite some strong competition from Logan and Wonder Woman, Homecoming is 2017’s highest-grossing superhero movie, earning $875 million worldwide. Critical reaction was overwhelmingly positive, as evidenced by the movie’s 92 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating. Of course, this is likely to change when Thor: Ragnarok and Justice League are released, but it’s a major achievement, nonetheless.
With Homecoming 12 weeks into its theater run, Marvel and Sony have launched their marketing campaign for the movie's home release. To mark this, Sony recently released the first ten minutes of the film online. Those ten minutes include the introduction of Vulture, Peter Parker's homemade movie about the Civil War, and Parker's disappointment when he doesn’t get a call about his next mission.
