Sony’s Silver and Black Filming Date, Working Title, and More!!

New details on the production of Silver and Black and a casting rumor have surfaced on web!

It's been some time since we had any news about Sony Pictures' Silver and Black, and there’s been some speculation that the project may never get off the ground. But a recent online report suggested that the studio might be about to get cameras rolling in the near future.

When Sony announced the Spider-Man spin-off featuring Black Cat and Silver Sable, it was reported that they were looking to start production in the fall of 2018. Then a February 8, 2019 release date was set, but we saw no activity after that, and it had been months since any announcement was made.

Most recently, That Hashtag Show broke the news that Silver and Black will kick off filming on March 5, 2018, and continue through mid-June under the working title Tri-Border.

Like Ruben Fleischer's Venom, the Gina Prince-Bythewood flick will use Atlanta as its main production hub. In addition, Omega Underground reported that Prince-Bythewood and Co. will move to an undisclosed location in Mexico to shoot some additional scenes, and THS confirmed.

In May 2017, we came across some rumored details that suggested that Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, will hide in the Triple Frontier - a dangerous zone bordered by Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil – after stealing some valuable secret information. The government will bring in Silver Sablinova, aka Silver Sable, to track her down. Apparently, the tri-border area scenes will be shot in Mexico.

Sony hasn’t shared any casting news for Silver and Black, but Omega Underground said that there's a "good chance" that Gina Rodriguez, who’s known for her Golden Globe-winning work in The CW's Jane the Virgin, is being considered for a "major role". THS didn't confirm or deny that, but they did reveal that the movie brought in production designer Kristi Zea (Silence of the Lambs, The Departed).
